Cookies time!

Since I must save more $$ for my next project middle of next year *GRIN*, I think I will cut the spending by doing activities with the girls at home on Saturday noon. Normally I will take both of them for brunch or lunch .

So this Saturday , finally I 've got back my mood to bake some cookies with Indy. I did that often with her when Maya was still in my tummy . Indy miss that moment. And now since Maya is a big bigger , we are hoping she could participate a bit. But nope she has no interest in cooking or whatever. She just dig the raw dough and stuffed in all in her mouth! So I must exclude her for our cookies session.

Indy on the other hand, when she was just turned 2, joined Children Cooking Class back in Guangzhou, where she made mini Pizzas, Pies, Cookies etc. It was a lot of fun for us.
Hope we can do the same here in KK. :) So I tried to do my own cooking class with Indy and Maya. But Maya is the trouble maker....maybe because this was her first time, maybe later she will enjoy it later .

I think it is good also to be at home with them and do something. I plan to do finger painting with them, or making playdough, playing in the swaddling pool and bubbles. And a couple of playdates would be fun....anybody want to join us? kekekeke.... It will use up a lot of energy to keep up with children now a days isn't it? I will feel worn up by mid of afternoon , while they energy seems to be going on and on.

So this is what we made , well I made , prepare the dough until it is ready to be cut. I wanted to add some chocolates but since this was just a basic vanilla and butter cookies so I think it will be nicer if we keep the original recipe :-). And I use the Hello Kitty and Winnie the Pooh cutter. The Doraemon cutter seems to be too big and the cookies cracked after it is cooked. So the small cutter works better with this dough.

Indy was concentrating while cutting the dough

Steady.....cut and cut..

Then use the other stencil to stamp the face of the pooh. Not to hard or the dough will crack

Here are the cookies waiting to be baked

We baked it in my mini but usefull oven, hehehe I got this ove as a present back in Shanghai , from my dh's friend . It is not new but stil working great.
We got another big oven, an Electrolux, from the owner of the house, but for mini project like this, I prefer to use the mini oven , easy to clean!

Oh and another thing is we are starting to clean our things , specialy the kids toys and clothing. I've been blabing this topic for the past year but never do it. I think it is time to move my big butt , to clean the cabinets and I will do a garage sale. And Indy said she if fine with it, she will help me to sort her toys . So far she got 7 barbie dolls to let go. And there are Dora and the gank soft toys (including Swipper, Benny, Boots the monkey ) , many teddy bears , Minnie Mouse, and alot more....
Gee...I hope I can do everything by end of November so we can have the garage sell by December.

Nah, I'm the only one tak tau baking..done once with my mom only..eee, I'm not the dapurwoman type I guess..

trust me I was not the dapur type or whatever the name is for woman that can't cook or bake.

But i think being away from my parents and sister and not in my hometown, and not near to my MIL, or PIL ,forced me to cook at least for my self ( just to survived) I can't live everyday by coffee shops food or fast food. I love home cooking food.
and I love eating out too but not every single day.
So when I was just married, I was in shock and so much in regret that I never learn how to cook properly from my mom. But since I love to eat and i MISS my mom cooking so bad, It made me learn .

And I think there is nothing better that a home made things served on the tables. Even my husband like my stuffs. hehehehe....
well he MUST to...:-D but he also give me critics so I can make a better one next time .

But seriously even that my homemade cookies or food doesn't taste that good for other people, but when my dh asked me : when you will make your chocolate cookies again?
or when he commented that my tiramisu is much better that the one from a restaurant, it feels good for me . hehehe... and make me want to bake/cook more for him.

or even when Indy said : you are the best cookies maker in the world ! I should award you that! LOL.
or even when TATY finish all the things that i cooked...it made me feel useful ( to make her gain weight that's it! ) LOL....
