Second one :) Airport chic inspired by Kim K

My second creation is the Airport chic inspired by Kim K  blog post .

My new game! Polyvore.

I never played with Barbie when I was a kid. Well maybe just  a bit. But I prefer to sketch on a paper , to create a fashionable look with my  imagination. In fact , my dad thought I would be a fashion designer, since I am so in to fashion show , sketching out model , and very keen into make up ! :) If there was a fashion show on the news, he would call me to see it. And I almost enroll my self to the famous Indonesian designer school in Jakarta as well. But since I m bad with sewing , I didn't choose to enroll there. I thought what kind of a fashion designer will I be if I can't sew?  LOL. So I choosed  the Hotel management college instead. But still I have a passion for fashion ( which women doesn't? ) .

I found this website recently and I found it pretty fun too! I could choose any designer brands that I like without breaking my wallet.

My first creation for casual chic is bellow . Let me know if it's a Hit or  Miss? The shoes are to die for for sure!! !! ^_^

Test of micro blogging

This is a test for my micro blogging.
Hope it's working well!
Bad hair day , lazy to put make up, hence the hat and sunglasses ^_^. I am loving the spring here. The Summer will be boiling hot!

Next step on the project

I've been eye-ing this thing for quite sometimes now. Finally I decided to take it home with me ( see... I don't just buy things, but I do consider it for sometimes... LOL self defense mode ! ) . After putting my accessories in the drawer, I think I still need something to just hang it on display for some items I use often , or just because it looks pretty to hang it there.

I think the accessories mannequin is very girlish and good to have. I know I must wipe the dust often though! :) .
Enough said, like you all can see, I choose the "etnic" design on the top pic. I also eye-ing the Chinese dresses, ballgown, tutus etc for next purchase :P
So this is what it's looks like after I hang some of my bangles, and  tiny type of earrings, and some of the pearls necklace. What do you think of it?

And this is what Indy has:
Yup the mini version of the mannequin with furry tutus. Very girlish indeed. And since her earrings are mostly stud earring ( no way I will let her wear dangling earring yet!), she can't hang it here. The mini mannequin has simpler hanger compare to big one.

Hm... I wonder if they make the life size one, would it be nice to put our bags , coats, hats, scarves, maybe shoes there? It can serves as room decor too! hah! ^_^

Paparazzi

We have a weird experience here in China. As many of foreign faces people ( foreign as in "white"/"western" or other colored skin  people), people like to take picture of my girls . During our recent Expo visit, there were at least ten to 15 people that we noticed keep taking picture of our girls and our friend's son. Some did ask for permission , and some just took their pic, some wanted to take picture together with them. And we were like " uhm??really??"
We are not Brangelina here! While my girls take this treatment quite fine, sometimes they will cover their faces, or run away, sometimes they will pose with them :), and sometimes they will stick out their tongues at them too.

And this "paparazzi" kind of things also happen in the city, when we went out to mall, on the road etc. I am not so comfortable about this, normally I would just ignore them and let them take photos , but to think of it, for the safety of my kids  this thing isn't right. What if they use the photos for some illegal or not proper things? My friends would just tell them off, or take their children away . While , me, being the nice person ( ehm...) still don't have the heart to tell them off , specially if the person look ok and not rough, But to think again appearance can be deceitful right?

Another thing that I really don't like is stranger to touch my girl's cheeks. EUW!! When this happened I definitely would tell them off.  They like to stay " pretty" "cute" and then pinch or touch the girl's cheeks. Once , a man in his 20-30 touch Indy's cheeks and followed her in the supermarket and looking at her in a freaky way. It gave me a creepy feeling and then I told him off and I left my shopping cart and grabbed Indy straight away and left.

What will do you if strangers start to take pics of your children? Should I tell them off?

My current and Next Projects

I have a few projects in mind. The one I have done is to re-do my jewelry drawer. Mind you these are not the valuable one but more into fashionable one. Or should I say it my accessories drawer? But these are just for bracelets/bangles , earrings, necklace. While accessories are also included scarfs, belts, hair clips/bands etc ( this will be my next project if time permit :) )

So this is what I have done so far. And I am sure my collection will still keep growing , since I have the access to H & M, ZARA, Uni Qlo stores over here. And some are my old collection where I bought from Parkson KK, Forever 21 Jakarta and some are gifts from friends .

I don't really put on these stuffs daily, but since I like the simple clothing but up to date , I think to add a piece of "statement" jewelry or just a right piece of bangles will do great. I don't really wear much necklace but I love bold necklace to accentuate black basic t-shirt. But my favorite piece of accessories is earrings. Earrings is a must for me , my all time favorite is the loops designs. Second favorite piece is bangles/bracelets at the moment, and I love to stacks lots and lots of the thin one with one BIG one. Imagine a simple little black dress, with a stud pearl earrings, no necklace and with 10 stacks of thin gold bracelets, and one Thick gold bangles. Simple and chic at the same time  ! Or just with white tank top, skinny jeans , the gold bangles/bracelets will add the glam ! :) ok enough with the imagination of style for now.

So that is how I put my accessories, since ( I am pretty sure) my collection will still grow ( guilty grin) I already have one more drawer just like this stand by to be filled in with more stuffs. :-D

The next project in mind are : to rearrange my bags collection in a more proper way. Right now this is how it look like ( some of it only, some of it I hang to retain the shapes)

I stuffed the bags with old cloths, and use the duffel bags , or some old pillow case . I love all of my bags to bits, as you can see I don't have that much bags ( but I just got one bronze colored bag for a present YAY! ) And I rewarded my self recently to a very nice glam up RED evening clutch !! DOUBLE YAY but Triple Ouch to my pocket! :(( > I don't really buy bag that often. All of them has special story < normally is bought with much consideration , self debate and major hurt in my pocket! hehe), some are presents ( hint : you will never to wrong  by buying me a bag ! LOL).

I don't have much space left in my wardrobe,  just 2 of this cubicles can be use for my bags ( unless I secretly dunk my dh's clothes and use it for mine ^_^).  I really don't have any idea right now how to arrange it in a better way except to put it according to type : Small ( evening bags) and Big ( daily bags). Hmm.... do you have any tips?

PS: Next project is to rearrange my make up table/ make up case ( If I am not too lazy to do so ! LOL)

Till then..... Oh and what is your favorite piece of accessories? And how do you keep them? And how do you store your bags?

Happy weekend and uhm.... happy shopping !!! ^_^
XOXO

Father's day 2010 / World Expo visit

June 20th is the Father's day. And I am thankful for a great father that I have. He is a truly inspiration for me. As I believe no one is perfect, I also believe that he is the best father I could ask for. The parenting style today is different in some way than in my own childhood. My father ( and most of my generation's fathers) have always been the " strict" or "scary" figure at home. The one with the highest authority and his words are the law at home. Well , in my case, my dad is strict but he is not the dictator, if our family is a kingdom, then he is the wise king. He knows when to be strict and when to be communicative and democratic to us. But one thing missing is that we were not so affectionate when I was a little. There was a barrier to him, we didn't hug as much. While when with my girls and their father, it is the whole opposite. And I think that is marvelous!! I love to see my girls can hug and kiss and be very affectionate to their papa, and vice versa. I do encourage father and daughter date a lot. It is just much much different now a days. And I do believe our relationship with our own father will influence our point of view to men in our adult life.

Well, I don't really spend the day with him on the Father's Day, so a phone conversation is what we had. And with the father of my children, we do have gifts for him , something useful of course and a bit fancy :)

On the same day we also made it to the EXPO on the father's day, on the cloudy, cool and bit of rainy day and it was perfect , much better than in the hot day . As many of you know this worldwide event is hosted by Shanghai this time.  And the average visitors per day is just about 350.000 . So we didn't have the expectation to enter any pavilion. We just be happy to go to the " quieter " pavilion. And me made it mostly to the  Joined African pavilion , and it is huge and very interesting.

Here are some photo I took that day.

We went there with friends  and sure the kids were having a blast !

This is UK pavilion.

Family pic in the one of the African region
We even made a henna tattoo for me and the kids .

They were discussing about their parents I guess :D .. I always love to see children to interact with others and the natural way they  build their friendship. The don't have judgment, prejudice , they don't look at the color of their eyes or skin or even hair or social background. They are just friends ! And that is what matter the most. We , as adult should learn from them, don't we?
Mexico Pavilion ( top) and Cuba ( bottom)

One of my fave Father's day pic.  Fathers spending their one day off per week with their kids.

And I like this photo too! Just to capture the real moment. Happy belated father's day to all the great daddies out there. And if you haven't give a small special token of appreciation to your father or even your own husband, it is not too late now ! :) It's not the price but the appreciation is what count the most.

XOXO

Woohoo...I won?? I won!!!! :)

From my Earth Day's post    I didn't expect to win anything from this contest . I did a similar post just a few days before to create awareness, but then that particular post caught my eyes. What a great  and creative way to create awareness.

And I just found out today that I won! Wohooo.... I know I sound very excited, and that is because I almost never won anything in my life hahahahaha.....

So thanks again ! And congrats to other winner too.

And let's continue our effort towards greener earth and positive and constructive blogging too!

I have lost nothing indeed....

Hi friends and blogger friends! It's been a while since the last update. I am trying to post as regular as possible, but since I want to keep a " journal" of life and not just a boring " diary/activities " records in my blog, I have to have a " theme" or "Quote" to share, and sometimes it doesn't come easy :). Anyway....here I am now.

Last month, May , has been a hard month for me. My dad was hospitalized and undergoing spinal surgery. He is back in Jakarta now, still recovering mentally and psychically. It's been the hardest time for him as well. We all pray for his strength during this time.

And while I was in Guang Zhou for his stay there, I lost my whole bag in a restaurant too. My, Thanks Goodness, our passport and my mobile was not in there. It is an old scam, but however it worked ( badly) to me! I put my bag on the next chair beside me, and my sis was facing me, and yet we didn't see when it was stolen. And my bag is not tiny , it is big and heavy and yet it was just vanished right in front of my eyes. Could it be hypnotized tactic? or just us being tired, under stress and a lot of things going on in our head that day so we could be easily distracted? Or could it be that one of the staffs in the restaurant is one of the " thieves" team? Well what is gone is gone... I lost cash ( I seldom bring that many cash around normally) , credit cards, ATM cards, Canon camera, Ipod, my watch ( which happened to be repair so I put it inside my  bag ), my make up ( I also seldom bring my make up around but since I practically live switching between hotel and hospital so I bring it with me ). If  I lost ( touch wood) the passports and my mobile it could be much much hassle.

But to think of it, God knows what I need . A good family, my parent's health , my friends and my kids to be around with me . That is the most that I need. The cash could be earn back again, the cards could be replace easily, and before I lost my bag, I got a new bag stand by for me , and my dad even though we never tell him about this incident, he gave me his favorite awesome camera. My nieces will send their old Ipods for me ( yay) . I got a few watches at home waiting for me.

For those who stole my bag,  I could say I didn't lost a thing but I gained something. Something that they can't steal away from me, something more valuable, something to riches my life. For them they might easily sell off my bag, my wallet, my ipod, my camera and my watch for some cash. And who knows how long the money that they wickedly earn could last them.

And during that hard days, my amazing husband who was not with me at that time, showed his support and love, and words of encouragement for me, which mean the world to me. I could not go on if it is not because of him, my dad, my girls , my aunt, and my great sister. We shared our love, joy, tears and laughter together.

And the best thing of all for that day? My father was being baptisted on the same day I lost my bag. I believe that God's plan is always good. Don't you think?
