Bravo , Gianluca!!

Congratulation for my brother in law, Gianluca. He just won the international bartender competition Martini Category in Milan and he will go to Bangkok next week to compete for the bigger scale that is the International Prize.

Isn't beautiful? The creation: Martini Gold and Chocolate.

My husband siblings are mostly in the Food and Beverage line. So it is really not my fault if I gain weight during our trip to Italy.

Again...Auguri !!

On that day.....September 11th 1999. FLASHBACK

Our wedding was small , and simple, just what we wanted it to be. Mostly just our closest friends and family. And my dh's mom to join us. We had a week of Tour de Java one week before the wedding, with all of our family, It was so much fun. We went to Jogjakarta, and Borobudur as well.

My boyfriend at that time proposed, via a long distance call, he was in Sydney and I was in Hong Kong. Far from romantic, ( no kneeling or flowers) But he did propose again when we met and popped the question, and of course I said : I do...

We planned everything, and it should be simple. My mom was more excited than me to choose the dress. I found it in one day! I want a simple dress, no fuss and not too complicated . It came with the simple lace jacket to cover my shoulder during the Holy Matrimony, but I can open it ( so it will be just a bustier) during the reception. Once I tried it on I knew that , that is "the dress" , it just feels right for me. And I love my hand bouquet , it was white tiger lilies and pink roses.

And I refused to wear gloves but instead I got a french manicure , and a fake tan! ahah...I am not a fan of fair princess, specially on my self, but too bad I am considered as fair person! My tanned friend always want to be fair, and me always want to be tanned. Life is not fair!!! (who said it is anyway)

We didn't have pre wedding photos like the trend now and the cake was just a simple 3 tiers wedding cake.

We were young back then, I was barely reached 23, and he was just 26.After 18 months of dating , he proposed on May, and the wedding was in September 11, 1999. We could have choose the 9.9.1999. But we did not. I never thought I would marry at such a young age , I planned to work and get marry at the age of 30....yeah right....:) I am 7 years ahead of my schedule I guess!

We got married in my church , Santa Maria de Fatima, where I went to school from kindergarten to Senior High. And the pastor is my childhood's pastor and he is Italian. So the Holy Matrimony was held in Indonesian and Italian.

My dad walked me down the aisle and gave me away to my husband. My mother in law cried her eyes out during the service. She told me that she never thought that his son ( my dh :) ) will ever get married ,specially at that young age, and she was so happy. ( maybe she thought no one gonna take her son as husband , so that's why she was so happy when I did ! haha)

The reception was in a Chinese restaurant , simple but great. Not too many food but just right..

We had our first child 3 years later. Un planned...:) we still want to enjoy a child-free life as a couple, but God had decided that we had enough free time together and start to be adult :)
with a real responsibility . ( Ok Sandra ....enough of playing around...now move your b*m and be a mom! )

Looking back at our wedding photos, It looks old fashion compared to the trend of the wedding photography now. And we didn't hire a photographer a camera man to make the video, instead we asked my 2 brothers in laws , and my brothers each with their own video camera to make the video on different angle. And then my best friends , spoke to the camera to say something to me, of course most are silly things and teasing me and congratulated me. But it was so much fun to watch.

The real marriage started a week later, I flew back to Singapore to join my dh there. It was hard at first to live far from my family and started a new life as a wife. I moved out from my parent's house since I was 18 years old. But I came home on weekends. But this time however it seems to be harder. We were young, alone, far from family. What we have is just each other. I never know how to run the house or how to cook before that. So it fell like a boot camp for newly wed for me.
Of course after that , things are getting better.

And after 9 years later, 3 countries, 4 cities, 8 houses, 3 jobs , 2 pregnancies, 2 c-sections and 2 children later , we ended up here for the moment, at East Malaysia. So far we like it here and hope we will stay here many years more. During all these years of journey as couple we happened to know many friends, some are great , some are outrageous , some are................well no comments :)
We have 2 children now and no plan to add more. Factory closed, thank you very much.....:)
And all this time we've been in good situation, not so good, and pretty bad situation just like all of you I believe. :)

It is a roller coaster after all isn't it? And life is full of surprise and it is like a box of chocolate...
you'll never know what you gonna get.....

But so far I like what I've got. Thank you , God! ( and if You decide to give me more kid, I will take that as a blessing from you , even though I've decided to close the factory, but please God just don't tell my husband about it. Hopefully he won't notice my big belly and the extra kid........) AMEN...

Due to my husband's request. I will not post the many photos on this blog. :)
I've posted it to a small of selected people at my FB . Sorry guys....
( See that is what we do as couple...listening to our husband request and "try" to understand his opinion, yeah righ... wait until he saw the other post with all of his photos in it...LOL...WAR will begin!!! TADAAAAA....
He cant understand the purpose of blogging and he is very protective to his privacy... Ok this will be my idea for next blog posting ( husband vs blogging :0D )

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO WISHED US THE HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ! CHEERS!

And as we all know, 2 years after we got married, the whole world mourn for the 9/11 tragedy. It was an unforgettable day. And it all happened on our 2nd anniversary. Blessed all the souls and give strength to the families of the victims.

How much is your website/blog worth?

Ok ladies, this is fun! I just know this last night from my brother. He checked my Mia Bambina website value at www.yourwebsitevalue.com

And this is what they estimated for my e-store www.miabambina.com

Description
Online store in Malaysia for moms and babies. Cloth diapers, nursing bra, washable diapers

Website Value
$945 Track this Value!

Potential: $16,789
Important Note:
It seems that this website has a lot of pages, however, it does not get traffic in relation to those number of pages otherwise, this website could be worth as much as $16,789.
(read about how accurate is the estimate price below, for website that sell products it is often underestimated.)

And this is what they estimated for miabambina.blogspot.com
Website Value
$18,677 Track this Value!

Potential: $84,800
Important Note:
It seems that this website has a lot of traffic, but not alot of web recognition. This probably means that it get a lot of direct traffic (bookmarks). This can be good. It may also indicate that all traffic is paid for. In such a case, we would estimate this website real worth to be no more than $18,677.

Wow that is not bad for a blog like mine.... so...ehm..(clearing my throat ...) anybody want to buy it? for $18,677? It is a bargain if you see the potential can be as high as $ 84.800! LMOF....

So...of you go...why don't you try to see how much is your blog/ website worth? Just for FUN of it!

And this is how much my personal blog worth:

http://2handedoctopus.blogspot.com
2 handed octopus BlogSpot

Description
N/A

Website Value
$450 Track this Value!

Potential: $6,594,015
Important Note:
It seems that this website has a lot of traffic, but not alot of web recognition. This probably means that it get a lot of direct traffic (bookmarks). This can be good. It may also indicate that all traffic is paid for. In such a case, we would estimate this website real worth to be no more than $450.

Eh the price went up! hehehe...not $10

Understanding the Result
We can only estimate websites based on what is publicly known. If the website is content-based, the estimator is very good.
The website could be worth a lot more if it gathers users information or/and if it is part of a bigger business.
Take the result lightly and in good perspective.

How accurate is the estimate?
In terms of comparing two websites, its probably very good. If the website is content based only, its probably very good. However, it's probably under-estimated for website that gathers user information (such as emails) or sell services/products. For example, we estimate google worth around 2Billions, but we all know google is worth alot more. But if google only had web pages (no clients, no services, no products) with the same History/Popularity/Friendliness/Interest/Recognition/Depth, our estimate would probably be quite good.

Criteria of the Analysis: Website History
This criteria tell us how long the website has been on the Internet.

Criteria of the Analysis: Website Popularity
The top 500 websites gets about 90% of all Internet traffic. So if your website is at position 2,000,000, it definitly means not many people visits it.

Criteria of the Analysis: Friendliness
Is your website friendly enough so other webmaster link to it? Would you rather have a friend named "google" than have a friend named "noname"? The importance of your friends are important in this criteria.

Criteria of the Analysis: Interest
Not only it is hard to get people to visit your website, but how many pages can you get them to look at before they go away.

Criteria of the Analysis: Recognition
This is the measurement of how many other websites links to you. Friendliness is the quality of your friend. Recognition is the quantity of your friend.

Criteria of the Analysis: Depth Potential
This criteria evaluate the size of your website in the quantity of recognized accessible pages.

Our Sources
We uses a combinations of many services in order to provide an estimate as accurate as possible. We also use information from major search engines and other database banks. Furthermore, we also do a quick analysis of our own. The combinations of all these informations and a tested formula brings a good comparative estimate.

When I was just start to blog about one year ago, the whole idea is just to share my life as mom and wife, while running a small online store. But as months passed by, and I read and visit more and more other moms blogs, I am really impress that other mom's blog are quite impressive!

KK from the sky

All of these photos were taken by my dad , during his flight back to Jakarta via Singapore. After a full week for rain, finally there was some sun coming out.

Kota Kinabalu , the land and the sea and the island........ the view during take off.

This is Sutera Harbour from the sky.

Ok you all people, what island is this?
And this?
I think this is Tanjung Aru. Is it? there is the runway of the airport. I can see Shangri-la at the tip , and is that Waikiki Condo ? For sure this is not Sutera Harbour.

And the plan went further up....

Bargain corner and Ebay store

Hi Moms!

If you notice , there is a new gadget on my blog. That is Paypal store front. I will sell some of my knick knacks over here. I might list new items, gently used items, some bargain items from my e-store etc.
Been a while since my long waiting garage sell for KK moms. But I just couldn't find the time ( what a lame excuse) . So when I found out that paypal got this new gadget, I think I will just list some of my items here. Who knows fellow bloggers will take benefit from my offer :)

Another news is I also open up a store at E-bay.
http://stores.ebay.com.my/My-Bambina

Noticed the name as My Bambina, not Mia....since I got another account with Mia Bambina, and somehow doesn't work. :)

My E-bay store offer will be a limited option of some item from my store in discounted price, sometimes maybe my personal gently used items, or some new items too.

My e-bay store is freshly started, so can be some error and mistake over there. Will try to fix this soon!

Have a great week ahead!

Sandra

Libra and Dragon

Hah....just found this over the internet.... why in those Zodiac details, everyone sound so nice and good? LOL

The Libra woman is vibrant, vivacious and thoroughly captivating. She is the epitome of diplomacy and tact, in addition to being a woman who is trusted by her friends. She is blessed with taste and a sense of refinement...but on the negative side, her love of the good life can lead to laziness and something of a selfish nature. As a sweetheart, she is irresistible and as a long-term partner, she is intriguing, being both feminine and fun. As a mother, she is not always one to concentrate on her children, but she does radiate a warmth and affection that provides them with a sense of security. Far from "fluffy" in her thinking, the Libra female can be a great help to the success of any mate's career. In short, she is attractive, mixes well and tends to get along with everyone, being tactful and shrewd.

For a long-term commitment, this woman looks for an adventurous and intelligent mate...one who is preferably fairly well off, but there is no aversion here to aiding a partner when it comes to accumulating the good things of life. When young, this female is rather like a beautiful flower, being very lovely to look at. With the advancement of years, however, this woman often finds that life has educated her to a high degree and she is also wise, witty, entertaining, tolerant, amusing and a wonderfully rewarding person to know. In her heart, every female governed by Libra truly desires affection above all else, closely followed by sympathy and interest. This is a woman who is forever seeking the ideal companion.

The female ruled by Libra possesses a delicate and rather spiritual appeal. This is usually a rather exotic-looking woman with a rare and exquisite personality. However, in actuality, she is nowhere near as fragile as she seems to be. A fine mental companion, the Libra woman is wise in the ways of partnership and extremely capable of bringing harmony into a home and family environment. Indeed, the talent for harmony is one of this female's special gifts. She has an instinctive knowledge of how to get along with people and usually attracts an interesting social circle.

Still, she will never neglect her own family, bestowing upon them all the loving attention of which her gracious nature is capable. Too well-balanced to encourage indiscriminate flirtations, if the woman ruled by Libra were to find herself emotionally involved, her response would never be underhanded. This is not the type of female who encourages scandal. The Libra woman is responsive, intuitive and intellectual. In many respects, she is the best suited of all Zodiac females to be a lifelong partner in the strictly personal sense of the word.

Fire Dragon
A person born in the year of the dragon will be full of zest for life.
They can be generous, passionate, confident, independent, strong,
energetic, impetuous, egotistical, selfish, opinionated,

and will defend and
protect who and what they care about.

Those born in the dragon year are said to wear the horns of destiny.
A dragon person most likely will lead a complex life,

their family, even if they are aggravated with them at the time.
A Dragon needs goals, projects, purpose in their
life, and can become depressed and listless without some cause to
fight for or project to work on.

and will not let you down if they can help it.

Game

Remember when you use to wish to play with dress up dolls and make up?
During my childhood we got nothing like this to play. Now over the internet , we can find plenty of dress up games, room decoration etc.

So here is something to bring back our childhood memory. :)

You're still you and the Prayer

Sorry , but I just can't help but to share these songs!
Both have a great meaning to me. And The Prayer Italian lyrics are just so beautiful . Enjoy.....

You're Still You - Josh Groban

[via FoxyTunes / Josh Groban]

Through the darkness,

I can see your light,

and you will always shine,

and I can feel your heart in mine,

Your face I've memorised,

I idolise just you.

I look up to everything you are,

In my eyes you do no wrong,

I've loved you for so long,

And after all that's said and done,

You're still you,

After all,

You're still you.

You walk past me,

I can feel your pain,

Time changes everything,

One truth always stays the same,

You're still you,

After all,

You're still you.

I look up to,

Everything you are,

In my eyes you do no wrong,

And I believe in you,

Although you never asked me to,

I will remember you,

And what life put you through,

And in this cruel and loney world,

I've found one love.

You're still you,

After all,

You're still you.

Charlotte Church Ft. Josh Groban - The Prayer

[via FoxyTunes / Josh Groban]

I pray You'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go,
And help us to be wise, in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, as we go our way
Lead us to a place, guide us with Your Grace
To a place where we'll be safe...

La luce che Tu dai
I pray we'll find Your light
Nel cuore rester
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei

Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'

When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with Your Grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

Sognamo un mondo senza pi violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno di la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternit

La forza che ci Da
We ask that life be kind

E' il desiderio che
And watch us from above

Ognuno trovi amor
We hope each soul will find

Intorno e dentro a s
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer

Just like every child
Just like every child

Needs to find a place, guide us with Your Grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

E' la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salver

To where you are

Josh Groban To Where You Are

[via FoxyTunes / Josh Groban]

To Where You are.....

Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear
Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration

Can it be
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me
From up above.

chorus
Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for a while
To know you're there
A breath away's not far to where you are.

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream?
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me
Everyday

Cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me
From up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
and that love will live on
And never leave

chorus
Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for a while
To know you're there
A breath away's not far to where you are.

I know you're there
A breath away's not far to where you are

I just love Josh Groban. Got to know him from Ally Mc Beal. Love his songs and voice!

Seperate blog

I am working for my new blog here. All the old posting are taken from my store blog. But as you can see, photos not yet uploaded/ , I hope I will have time to do that soon.

As I am re-designing the e-store with new logo and all, I think I also want to make the blog like the part of the store , and I will try to put the same design and logo for my blog as well.

So here is the blog about me and my family. Not about my biz life.

So if you plan to tag me....tag me here! :D

And oh.... Enjoy my new blog! :)

Have baby will travel ? or not?

So...we are back to biz after 9 days break in Bali. After managing my emails and a few orders received while I'm away finally I try to sit and try to "write" this blog.
We went to Bali from 7th of May till 16th of May 2007. We stayed in Vila Puri Ayu a nice quite place in Sanur area. We rent the mini apartment with one bed room, kitchen, big private garden and open air bathroom. The price is very reasonable, the got internet, laundry, 2 swimming pool and breakfast included.
I must said we managed to enjoy this holiday, despite we bring 2 children under 5 :).
We went to most of place interest in Bali, go shopping, spend 2 days in waterbom Bali. And My dh manage to get to do massage and I managed to get spa done on mother's day.

Traveling with young kids is not impossible to do. It will need preparation and a LOT of patience and EXTRA LOTS of sense of humor when everything seems to be failed. :).

I'm not an expert in traveling with kids, but read lots of reference about that (some are lonely planet traveling with kids, and baby center.com )
Week before I traveled normally I will print out the list that I need to bring. This I usually divide it into 2 groups . One is hand carry with me other is in the luggage
What I bring normally :
Hand carry :
Depends on the journey , if I go short flight trip or long with transit. but this is what I bring
1. bottle of water for both of us (3 in my case, me, indy and maya) but since Indy is bigger she can help me carry her own bottle in her own backpack.
2. Some snack
3. Wet wipes lots of it
4. Diapers (if using disposable one during trip it will be much better, but i do keep 1-2 cloth diaper with me for extra) If you bring dispo, you should bring it extra 2-3 pcs than what you think you will need.
5. Changing cloth for you baby and you also if you like ( It will not be nice if you must travel with milk spot on your shirt )
6. Changing pad
7.light blanket or light jacket ( in this case I use my sling pouch as blanket as well), extra sock
8.favorite soft toys, and new toy (to distract in emergency situation)
9. band aid (for Indy)

In the luggage

1. Medicine. this is on my top list. Specially fever medicine, diarrhea or cold
2. Towel
3. Clothing of course
4. Thermometer
5. Sun block
6. Mosquito repellent
7. and many other thing!

To share the trick on bringing baby/toddler in the plane :
I always armed my self with a "new" toy for them. What I did is : weeks before travel , I eat at Mc Donald , I took happy meal and keep the free toy aside. So I will have 2-3 new toys as my "weapon" .So when the" red code" emergency happen in the plane ( e.g: toddler screaming, doesn't want to put on seat belt , want to escape from the plane, or without any reason they kick and yell) hopefully when you "magically" take out the new toy, they will be "amaze" and hopefully that toy can keep them "quiet" . This is a good trick for toddler (or about 9mo-2 years old baby). Avoid: noisy toys, toys that contains a lot of smaller part (it will drive you crazy picking it up all the time)
Other trick for 2 years old and above is :STICKER and Play dooh. The stickers is nice, they will like to peel and stick to the sticker book. And with play dooh they can be busy too! Play dooh will make a mess in the plane , so be prepare to get a "look" from the flight attendant ! :D
PS: none of my tricks are guaranteed can work ALL TIME! :D

Oh remember the "new" sling i mention before? I used it and love it . The material is called 'solarveil" which give baby UV protection up to 75 % , it is very light, breathable and dry fast!(within 2 hours in the sun!) I dont have yet the picture here with me! I will upload it when I have it. And I bring Maya to swim in this sling ! :D

Indy, Maya and Me. in Water Bom Kuta

Water Bom Kuta

Indy and Papa at the boogie board slide.
Indy is such a brave girl, She play the adult slide (min height is 1 meter, she is 1 meter now:D)
She even go to big slide with out tube and go on her own (not together with papa , since the papa must slide first then catch her when she hit the water! )

Yipeeeeeeeee I love slides!

My Super mini estore

So , I work from home. And sometimes I got e-mails asking: Sandra, where is your kedai? Can we visit your kedai? which building is it? which area? And I just answer : hmmmmmmm....actually I don't have any kedai. I work from home. You can come and pass by and have a look of my products if you are in KK, Sabah, but it's all in my house.

Since end of 2006, I've been stocking my inventory, and I've been moving it down and up for several times. And finally last month we (me and my hubby) have decided that we going to put it up stairs, and we've moved my computer too.
It will be much easier for me to check on inventory while reading (yours!) e-mails regarding which colors/sizes do I have in stock!
So here is some pictures:

This was what it looked like when I just started. Lucky when we move to this house, it has many of built in cabinet. So I just need to arrange my inventory in to it. Looks much nicer in this pic, but now is much more messier!

This was taken a few days ago! not a good picture... This cabinet is behind of my computer table.

And this is my computer table with "a view" to my neighbor house. My eldest dd is in the pics.
Most of the time I always have Indiana ( 4 yo) near by . if she's home from school, and Maya on the playmat on the floor near me, banging my mobile phone. (with Barney's music in the background repeating for hundreds of times until I sleep and dream with that songs!)

So that's my lil brand new e-store. If you call me and heard baby screaming (because I refused to give her my mobile phone) and some screaming form my older dd , please forgive me...
