Mother's day 2010

Wow.. I looked back at my own post for Mother's day and this is my 3rd year of posting MD !!
Amazing how time passed and how different I celebrate it each year.

My dh can't participate much this year , he is not even able to take his weekly off for the whole month if May due to his job. And though it is not easy for him , and not so much fun for me and the kids, we can't complaint much. Better to support him to work hard in his job rather than become jobless  ( touch wood)

This Mother's day is bitter sweet one for me . Sweet coz my girls surprised me with flowers ( Indy went to buy with my aunty )and chocolate ( but most of it Maya ate it!aahaha)
And my dh surprised me with an email of slide show of my girls since they were young and mostly are taken in KK, Sabah. So that brings back many memories!
Bitter coz I heard a not so good news about my father's health, his cancer is progressing and he is in some pain now. But he is still very optimistic and that is great.

Mother's Day weekend

During Mother's Day weekend,my husband managed to take 2 days off. Sunday and Monday. And we decided to went to Kudat, again. :)

And he got surprise for me , a cake ( not nice because bought last minute in the shop) and the other is : that he will stop to smoke for me! huh.. I was like expecting something more tangible present for my self?

But I think, it is nice for him, to be determined to stop to smoke starting on Mother's Day.
Now it is still too early to tell the result, we see how it goes, I hope it will be permanent !
I will be so proud of him if he really stop to smoke.
After nearly 10 years of marriage I never ask him or persuade him to stop smoking, neither that I encourage him. Because I believe, like anything else, it MUST come from himself, his own will . No matter how much I nag , if he still want to smoke , he can just do it behind my back.
Hmm .... I shall give you all the update about this stop smoking thing later on..Hopefully it is a positive update!

2nd day on the other side of the tip of Borneo ( sorry forget the name , Pantai Kulambu? something like that) This is where there will be the high end resort Kudat riviera. We think it is still under construction but we can see a few of it luxurious bungalows already.

Priceless moments, Happy Mother's Day!

To honor my mom for this year Mother's Day. I think there is nothing I could give or say to her , to say how grateful am I to have a WONDERFUL mom like her. I have the most wonderful childhood, and all my sibling think the same.

My father also did a great job with us. He is the disciplinarian, but yet still warm and kind in his own way.

I was in the "oven" My cousin, Johnny, my sis: Vony, Priscilla and Jeanny and my mom with ME inside her! This was in the Zoo.
Still with me in the oven, yet it wouldn't stop her to bring my sisters to the beach! Imagine the heat and tiredness?But yet it wont stop her to let her other kids to had some fun!
It made me feel as I am a bad mom, to feel too lazy or tired or too hot just to bring my kids to the near by playground!

Thank for their guidance we all had grown up to be grateful individuals today. Our childhood taught us to enjoy this life as much as possible, be considerate to other and to accept people with flaws and all. We , the sibling, are 5 different individual and personality but yet we are one. Through our ups and downs, fight and peace, cries and laughter, misunderstandings and bad judgments,we will always be there for each other. And that is because we have a GREAT PARENTS!

We never had the abundance of wealth, our childhood is very simple and modest but do feel loved and cared for. And I think that is very important .

Mother's Day Cake

I am sure you all know that Mother's Day is just around the corner , This SUNDAY!
Oh My..... I'm looking forward for the art and craft my kids will make for me :P beside that of course I'd love some CAKES!

I've been a fan of Colus cake for some times now. Or you can visit the blog to see the whole collection too!

I am often disappointed with the quality and taste of those cakes sold in the bakery. They tend to reduce the ingredients and the decoration seems too "general" for me, nothing special. So I m so happy when I know I can order a good quality of cakes with or without the special decoration .

And I know that Coluscakes also will try their best to meet customer's request, like less sugar, or extra chocolate or more marshmallow ( for my dd it is a MUST!)

My recommendation : Carrot cakes with the cheese topping ( my favorite) and Orange cupcake with Chocolate Cream topping ( My dh's favorite).

Oh and if you want to give an impressive gift to some one, sure the mini cupcakes with the cute decor will make your friends or relatives go OOOHHH AAAAAAHH.... Trust me! I'd proof in many times already!
