Shania Twain is one of my favorite female singer. Her songs is very womanly and the lyrics are just touching, true and fun! Her hit song that came out in 1999 " From this moment" is our wedding ceremony song, and times really does flies as we gonna hit the 10 years next month.

One of her earliest hit song that I love is Any Man of Mine. Love this country pop song about MEN in our lives.

MEN......oh Men....

So the previous post was more into sexy in women without screaming the word slut or cheap. How about in man? Let's talk about the skin deep stuffs here and not the "characteristic" kind of thing first.

I don't fancy a man that into vanity. I mean a personal grooming is important but if his facial cream and clothes are much more fancier than mine... hmm thanks but no thanks.

I like man who can dress up for the occasion but on the other time I like to see him in the dress down casual but still have the "roughness".

For all of us, the appearance is not EVERYTHING. But it is something. It 's all started from there. Ok next will be the inner beauty. But if some one who is (become)VERY unattractive will not be any helpful in any relationship or marriage, don't they? Think about un-groomed men , unpleasant and un-sexy body odor, no dental hygiene ( ew!), nose hair, smelly feet .. OK enough details but the list continue in your own mind please! :). But again a man who keep checking himself on the mirror, enjoys pedicure more than the woman, and have facial ( very)regulary and still feel insercure is kind of turn me off)

Too bad, I never see any attractive men lately ( read as for the past 3 years and counting). Boy this city need something to make a woman happy. Don't get me wrong! No intention for cheating over here, but just to see ( cuci mata). So the last time I went to Singapore, I saw a few female and male models! Wo hooo.... that is something at least.

The most turn off for me is the man who acts like he is the most gorgeous man in the world or in the room ( bluek) and think all women will feel for him. Hmmm that don't impress me much! ( from Shania Twain song) .

I think in every relationship, the partner must reminds and motivates each other to keep a good body shapes and controlling each eating habit. My husband is one of those man , who like to reminds me if I over eat . Sometimes it is nice but sometimes it is just so annoying ( I was like: Hey relax, I don't eat like this every time). I also will remind him if I saw his belly is growing bigger than normally. We kind a of in the mood to trim and toned up a bit our tummy for more beach and bikini 's time now. :-D

So I think , I prefer men that not thinking so much about their appearance but still can manage to look good ( is it too much to ask?), a man that know what will work for him and what is not ( like pink or orange t-shirt), and man that is open to new suggestion ( new hair style or new colors) and those who is not afraid to look good . Most important of all : A man who is confident ( without being too confident and become arrogant) who is secure about himself.

Who I vote for " my own personal" winners are :

Someone who is just simply gorgeous and doesn't even care about how he look or think to shave his beard. Some one who is laid back and ride (big)bikes! :)

Someone that can manage to apprear like he is not good looking at all but yet , he is just simply irresistible and someone that is so humble but he can make a messy hair looked so oh damn sexy!

Someone who is very comfortable with himself and his sexuality , someone who make a statement and still look very damn sexy. Sexy is sexy and it is universal ! Even with nail polish and eyeliner!

Who do you think is sexy and what kind of man will turn you off?

What do you put in your evening clutch?

I just read about the evening clucth essential at the Celebrities' make up artist's Blog by Troy Jensen.

" When I get one of my celebrity girls ready for a big red carpet event, I always prepare the perfect touch-up essentials for them to put in their clutch. Aside from their cell phone, credit card, keys and mints, I want them to have everything they need to stay flawless all evening long. I make sure they have the essentials to touch up their make-up. I usually give them some blotting sheets, an eye liner, concealer, mascara and lip gloss. That's just enough to fit into their little evening clutch. Now on your next evening out, you'll have everything you need to look beautiful all evening long"

Mine would be : credit card, some cash, mobile phone,small mirror,lipgloss ( I don't really wear lipstick ),compact powder,mints,camera ( if I can fit it in ).

I knew this product about 3 years ago, while I tried the free YSL make over in Jakarta by one of the well knows make up artist. When he put it on, wow , I was totally impressed by it. The price is very high. But this is the magic wand. I don't use it daily though. After that make over , I made a major hole in my pocket :P by buying YSL products that I like. ( I also love their lipgloss and blush) and I really want to try this new blush! droool!!!!

That is one of my favorite things to do in Jakarta , the free make over . LOL. Last December I did one with Make up forever team to create the smoky eyes and I love their smoky eyes extra black mascara!

What is your make up essential for evening ?

As you can see, I like Kim K 's styles and looks, and her make up too ( I also like her sis , Khloe 's make up).

After watching these video. I think I need to add more to my brushes collections :) , I think I got enough of eye shadows and blushes for now. But I need the eyeshadow primer ( I hope I can get it from MAC , KK). And I m thinking to get a few more brushes,and eyebrow pencil to give more definition.

I almost never use liquid foundations before. Specially in humid tropical weather. I did use that when I lived in China for winter time. So for now, I love mineral make up powder foundation. I think it's the best to suit tropical weather.

These look of Kim ( the first 4 videos), is her signature dark smoky eyes. And it was created by a make up artist and it is very hard to achieve ( at least for me :) ) But there is nothing wrong to see and to find out how to apply eye shadows or liner or even foundation. Finding tricks from make up artist is the key of better make up .

The 4th video is more easy to achieve for daily make up.

I did one make over at The Body Shop in Centre Point. Hmm the result is not really satisfying. It was not bad, but definitely not by a make up artist standard. It was more like friends do make up for other friend kind of thing. The make up artist did the exact look of her eye make up to my face. So you imagine that.... :)

My favourite part is to see the different technique of applying foundation, even that I don't use foundation but I just like to see how to create the perfect canvas for the rest of the make up.

I am not good at art thing, my hands just kind of stuck some where or get tangle in between hahaaha :) , but my friends once told me , that I am lucky, even though that I am not good at arts ( drawing and such) , I am " quite" good at applying make up ( at least to my self ,and I was their "unofficial make up artist " in college). And to think about it, I think they are right! hahaha.. since I love make up!

Friendship

Every one has friends and some of us have plenty of good friends and if you are lucky enough , you have one or two real best friends. Who knows you inside and outside, who often speak your mind even when you are in silence. Some one who knocks your head when you are in the wrong path, some one to hugs you and supports you when you fall, some one who cries together with you in your sorrow, someone that is not scare to share his success or failure with you.

Like Oprah said : a true friend is some one who walks with you when your " limo" broke down. Not those who wants only to ride in your limo...

I am blessed that through the years of my life, I have many good friends and some a truly best friends. Who grew with me, witnessing me to evolved to a person who I am today. Who's been there through thick and thin and yes... a true friends need to be in touch and no distance nor space can tore the friendship apart.

Friendship is one of most important thing in live . I always try to encourage my children to nurture their friendship skills, because I believe to be a good friends you will need to have some skills, such as : to love your self, to respect others, to accept the differences and to look beyond the differences it self. A true friend closed one eyes and in friendship you will also need a lot gratitude.

The quote that I love and capture it all is:

“Much of the vitality in a friendship lies in the honoring of differences, not simply in the enjoyment of similarities.

I always remind my self and my children to loves our selves first. It is so much important to be comfortable and accept us for who we are.

It is lack of love for ourselves that inhibits our compassion toward others. If we make friends with ourselves, then there is no obstacle to opening our hearts and minds to others

How about filtering friends? It is a dangerous world now anyway. There are a lot of bad people out there or people with bad influence. Should we be nice to everyone?

I believe friendship , like love, also build based on "chemistry" . It is either you have it or you don't. And the strong based in our family' s values in life will give our children the fences and filter they will need to choose their friends or better yet to protect themselves to certain people that could give the bad influence in their lives. ( same thing when it comes to choosing life partner)

But again, I think, with certain personal values in mind, when I make friends, I always remind my self that:

Every person is a new door to a different world.

Like most of us , I had a bad experiences in friendships before. There were heartache, dis-agreements, betrayals, backstabbing and some might ended in the loosen of the friendship it self. But that doesn't make me scare to start to know new people with different background from me or come from a different place . I will always take the risk of having betrayal, heartache , backstabbing . Because as they said, every person will show me a different world. In some way I can learn something and anything from that person. And when you found the "right friend" I think the whole heartache things you get from the "bad" friends will totally worth it!

So "Friendship is like money, easier made than kept.”

Keep that in mind and you shall be grateful for all of your friends today. And it needs to be nurture from time to time and be respected. And never take any friendship for granted.

To celebrate the Friendship day ( first Sunday of August), to all of my new and old, real and "virtual/blog" friends , those who lives near me or miles apart, no matter where you are or who you are, what skin colors do you have, what language do you speak , which accent do you have..........

Happy Friendship day, and you all have opened a new world to me! Thank you....

I might said a wrong words , did the wrong things and made bad decision but that is all about it after all. The imperfection is the perfection. If there is any one who only wants to be friends with the perfect some one, he/she shall close the door from friendship forever.

If this 2 very different species can look each other eyes by eyes and make peace with their differences , can we do the same as well?
