Best Mom Award

Thanks CathJ, for this award!

Rules:
1. Show the award logo in your post.

2. Pick a picture you have with your kiddo(s).

3. Post should include your best experience as a Mom.
For me the best experience is the simplest thing that I can do as a mom. I believe many mommies will be just more than please to see their healthy kids play and laugh , just to see my kids to be happy. Free from fear, and burden and just to be able to give them a memorable childhood.
So my best experience as mom is when I see our kids being happy.

4. Nominate other blogger mom's out there that you consider the best mom, like yourself.
Taty for your strength and the trust for your son! Even all have been very critical to you and your son but you proved them WRONG! You ROOOOOOCK!!!!
Lebah Sibuk for your independence as mom making tough decision when your dh is not around and your commitment to your kids.
Charish for your dedication, your time , your self for your girls.
Farrah for your dedication of breastfeeding, giving the best for your son, for your decision to be a FTWM for the best of your child (ren )
Christene for everything you do for your kids. You are one super busy mom and yet you still make sure that your kids will have your time the most
Tanya for the choices you've made for them ( and many more choices that you need to decide in the future)
Bonnie for the values you stand for your son, and for your willingness to learn as a young mom.

I know many more best moms out there. But I won't tag all of you.... I want to leave the other blogger moms to tag you too!!!

Valentine's marathon

It was all started with mommies and daughters day out on Saturday 14th February 2009. We took our kids to indoor playground ( 1Borneo) and then having a very early dinner at CBTL. We all squeezed in to Und's car. Indy stayed at home that day because she needs to rest after just recovered from cough and fever. We met Bonnie in the playground later on after that. Of course it was very chaotic as usual. The normal combination for this kind of outing or gatherhing are: bitting, pinching, hair pulling, screaming ( both kids and moms) , pushing and pulling. And yes....we only breed girls....but yet they are tough as the boys! ( baby NL is the boy but he is too young now to join the wrestler girls club, so for the moment the only boy member is Wawa )

The Ocean Wing

I didn't have any V day dinner as usual. Since my dh for sure must work on that day every year.
This year , he took 2 days off the day after the V day. So he secretly planned and booked the room for our getaway. I kinda smelled it 3 days before, when he told me not to plan anything for Valentine's day. Something fishy..... So we went to the Resort on Sunday. It was just about 45 minutes drive from home. I hope he booked the room that I want! And yes he did!! We actually wanted to stay here from last September the day we celebrated our girls B'day in STAR. But timing was not right. The room is great, spacious and the balcony is exceptional, with our own jacuzzi, and big day bed , big bathroom and of course we love the facitilies in that hotel.

As soon as we arrived there the girls are jumping on their beds, checking every corner of the room.

The inspections began...the room the balcony the jacuzzi and the statue.....

Then we went out to go to the Kid's club, where they played for a while before our lunch time

Then of course is the SWIMMING TIME!!! The hotel put a new set of slide and it is heaven for the children! Any children ( and adults too). Maya go up and slide alone for about 30 more over times. And Indy too! The were laughing, screaming, and were very excited. It was hard to asked them to go back to the room to take a nap.

After a very short nap for them ( too excited I think :) ) they were all fresh again! And we took them for a walk on the beach. After that they asked me to try the Jacuzzi! Who can blame them for that? So Jacuzzi it is!

Me and my dh planned to have a quiet dinner without the children. We knew that there is a new Tepanyaki Restaurant and my dh knows the chef there. So we decided to hire a babysitter service and pray and hope Maya will be ok with the sitter , Indy will be no problem as she is bigger. But as a treat...I ordered the in room dining service for them. They were so happy to see the table being pushed into the room with their meals set up on the dining table. I ordered Minute steak with french fries and steamed veggie for Maya and for Indy I ordered Lamb Chop with mash potatoes and garden salad. The cost? RM 28 only! What a great deal for the superb service and meals!

These 2 young ladies were so happy about the inroom dining!

And yes! it WORKED! They like the sitter as soon as she came in to the room, and I stayed with them for 5 minutes, to told the sitter about them, where were the changing clothes are if she needs to change them, and what they would like to do, and how to put them to sleep. They were pretty easy to handle, luckily! I just told her to draw with them and watch some TV and then when the are sleepy just put them on the bed and pat Maya a bit.

Our main course : wagyu beef, fois gras, cod fish, and tiger prawn

So , off we went to the Tepanyaki restaurant. Both me and dh LOVE tepanyaki so very very much! And it is not easy to find a good one here. So when we heard that Shangri-la Rasa Ria have new Tepanyaki restaurant ,we were like YAY!! FINALLY!.....
Real Tepanyaki must be cooked in front of the customers, in a big flat hot plate ( TE= iron, PAN= board. Like in Chinese : DIE= IRON. BAN=Board, And yaki means grilled)

Chef Carol did the flambe of the wagyu beef with brandy. The meat literally melt in your mouth!

The head chef there is my dh's new friend. She is a woman chef from Hong Kong. And she prepared the special menu for us . And I LOVE LOVE it all!!! My favorite is Fois gras ( read as FOA GRA, it is a goose liver pate ) and of course the Wagyu/Kobe beef. The very well known beef that is super soft and tender ,and juicy. The cow drink sake or beer everyday and must me massage in a special way ( good life for a cow!) Hmm...drooling again! It was a very very excellent dinner!

When we reached the room , they were both a sleep! YAY!!! It was perfect! And then the room service had bring a tray of selection of cheese cakes, and chocolate cakes with grapes. We had it in our balcony with wines. It was very nice..... and we off to sleep.Because I know the kids will be up very early in the morning .

So it was 7 am and here they were:

Pool again! This time in the Ocean Wing area.

And after that we met Chef Carol for breakfast at the COAST. Another excellent meal of course.

Then we walked into the reserved centre, too bad we didn't see the orang utan. Got turtles, fish, ducks, roasters, goat, what else ah??

We headed home after that. Then the kids were asleep when we arrived home. We left them with our maid, and then me and my dh went out for lunch and we had pedicure together! hahaha.. Ya first time took my dh to do pedicure . Of course no nail polish for him! That was my treat for him.

Then we stayed at home the kids play with the new inflatables pool. Then my dh cooked dinner for them. And we went for movie (Valkyrie) .When we reached home, dh prepared another meal for us , because the kids were in the dream land already!

Although this year there were no roses and diamonds for me.... I thought it was a great Valentine's after all!! :-D

THE GEOGRAPHY OF A MAN

Valkyrie

I am not a fan of Tom Cruise butd I don't hate him too. Though no one can deny that he is a one good looking man and actor. His personal life may be too much exposed latetly, like the images of him jumping on the couch , or scientologyst and many other personal things , but those things aside, he is a great actor. His last movie , Valkyrie, prove that he is a great actor. He let people to see the other side of him as actor. Not as a hot shot pilot, sport agent, or a man that can do many impossible things. He played a German Colonel Stauffenberg who tried to kill Hitler.

I've always intrigue with the story behind the WW 2. I remember the first time I watched Anne Frank. And the images inside the NAZI's camps. It was terrifying, I was young when I first saw the movie. It was not the best memory I got, but I am glad I watched the movie , as sad as it is, it is an eye opening for me, and it is a part of history.

My first encounter with NAZI's logo was from my favorite movie from all time :The Sound of Music. I remember I asked my mom about the logo in front of Captain Von Trapp house when he pull the Nazi Logo down and tore it apart. And when the boy shout Hi Hitler! I wonder who and what is it?
My mom told me that Hitler is a bad man that excecute women and children put them in a poisonous gass room. I remember I asked her if Hitler is still alive? I was so scare that time.

My favorite novels , most of them are taking sets in the WW2 background. About Jews and the Nazi's camps like Dachau and Ravensbruck. Stories about survival and the lost during the WW2 are the one that can made me shed tears. It's a heavy sadness to read about these people there.

Same with VALKYRIE. It was not a movie for everyone, or a movie that will entertain you, not the one that you want to watch to have a good time with friends. The story is more like physiological thriller , the sad story, the story behind the German's war, the people that is trapped in that war, this movie is based on a true story and it is a history lesson . Some critics said that Tom Cruise is not the "star" in this movie, that is true. He played the key player of the "team" and if I saw this movie during my school year, man....it will help my history test of the WW2 :-D. So if you have a school age children that are studying about WW2 this will be a great option. But let's be honest this kind of movie needs a big name actor to sell, if Tom Cruise didn't starred in it , how many of us want to go and see the movie about the failed assassination attempt of Adolf Hitler.? But this is a good one....tragic and sad but it is part of history.

So.....What is love, again?

In the mood for love? What is love anyway? No one can describe it in one sentence.
Is love is blind? Maybe... but without love we can't see clearly too.

So what is love anyway? There is many kind of loves
Love as parents, love as lover, love as couple, love as friends, love as a child, and love to God.

So what is love again?
I am still not sure...

Our love has grown from puppy loves to unconditional loves toward our kids and spouse. Love towards our Creator, Our friends, Our Country and all...

Some of my favorite quotes for love:

Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.
Franklin P. Jones
To have someone to be there with you, to share it with you in ups and downs I think it is LOVE.

Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

This is a very true one , specially if the love end up in marriage. Are you looking at the same direction with your spouse? We don't have to be the same person or think a like....I've met many
great couple who are so different from each other but they are looking in the same direction.

We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it.
John Lennon

This is the very truthful facts. Just because we are married we can live happily ever after like in the fairy tales . You just cant leave the love and expect it to grow own it's own. Work for it. Fight for it if you have too!

You don't marry someone you can live with - you marry the person who you cannot live without.
Unknown
You might can live with a few people. We can "accept" them. But you should marry the one that you cannot live without.

People shop for a bathing suit with more care than they do a husband or wife. The rules are the same. Look for something you'll feel comfortable wearing. Allow for room to grow.
Erma Bombeck

I couldn't agree more on this one. Some one that makes me comfortable, be there for me, accept me for who I am, but this doesn't mean that I don't need to improved my self.
Our love has grown and still are.... our love is not the same like 10 years ago. It's evolving and adjusting to our life as parents .

He use to ( and sometimes still ) sending me fresh flowers , he knows I love flowers bouquet, He once picked me in the airport with a huge bouquet of flowers , that was actually embarrassing for me LOL, he once decorated our bed room with red rose petals, candles, and arrange for a private dinner in a gazebo facing the sea during sunset.
But I don't demand that every time. I am more into practical romantic :-D...see how it goes and the timing too. Not easy to find time to do more elaborate things now with 2 kids as our shadows.
Now for me the sentence : I would love to grow old with you is much much more sexier than :
You look hot tonight.... Sound pathetic? I think it is more meaningful when a man wants to grow old with you.

So ....What is love, again?

Im still not sure ..... I am still learning to understand it.

But one thing for sure the love has found me. And I hope it found you too!!

To all my dear friends and blogger ( that is including the silent readers, singles or the broken hearted ones...)

Happy Valentines Day ! Treat your self something on Valentines Day with our without your love one. ( lazy afternoon nap, an extra cup of homemade coffee, cupcakes, a session of laughing with your bestpal, manicure/pedicure, facial, lingerie , how about me?? not sure yet....maybe will treat myself and friends for a mug of coffee and a doughnut? )

XOXO

5 Things you don't know about me

Got this from Tanya
I think I've done many tags like this, 10 facts about me, 25 things about me, then this...
I don't know if I have anything left to tell.... anyway I will try

1. I've learned ballet , organ(piano) ,badminton and karate as a kid and during my teenage year (for organ piano )

2. I can do ice skating, roller blade, roller skating... I think that is the only sport I do and would love to do again If I got the chance

3. I can't sing. Always out of tune...I can sing children songs ( kind of) but not other songs. My dh said that the glasses and windows will be broken if I sing . So he forbid me to sing in public place. I wonder how he could know this, I NEVER sing in front of him!!

4.I have this "six sense" when I saw people for the first time. I got the "feeling" about that person. And most of the time ( I said 90% ) of that feeling is correct.
I just can tell if that person in a genuine person, hard to please, arrogant, sensitive, a show off type, or happy go lucky etc etc
But....
Don't bother to ask me what kind of feeling I got when the first time I've seen you.I won't answer that! kkakakakakakakak
. But the feeling is not by just judging the look or clothing or physical appearance ..it's more to do with the way a person speak, the words, the eyes, the body language .

5. Secretly wish to learn to ski-ing one day, I hope I am not too old for that.
And horseback riding too. But I think I will be too afraid now.

I will tag
Mabel
Deana
Farrah

YAY!!! He is IN!!!

I didn't normally have the strong vote for a particular American Idol contestant. But this year I do!

Scott MacIntyre

I think he is just truly inspiring , he is young and so talented and has an amazing voice! Despite that he is a visually challenged person.

I think if he will be voted off I will cry! Ya....read that and laugh... I don't usually cry....
but I hate to think about that now... I hope he gets FAR this season...

Another strong contestant I think will be
Adam Lambert. He can sing and got the quality !

The Creativity of a 2 years old

So it was Sunday morning. I clean up my room and made my bed up, opening the curtains, puffed the pillows......everything was so peaceful.....then I realized.....WHERE IS MAYA??? Why she is so quiet? I know that Indy is downstairs watching her favorite TV program. But how about Maya?

So I asked : what did you draw??
So she answered: this is turtle, this is fish , this is ball.
And I asked again: why Maya draw on the floor? You can't draw on the floor, you must draw on paper...
And she looked at me with "the I don't care what you said look"

And so I found the activity for them that Sunday : The art of scrubbing the floor!

This activity made them so quiet and helped each other out. Scrub scrub...rub rub.... spill spill.....
They spent about 20-30 minutes of doing it. Enough time for me to do blog hopping....HAH!
